We have just finished our second and final planning trip in our caravan. We went to a great place just south of Ulladulla, where we visited Uncle Bob and Aunty Dorothy, and Aunty Mad and John. Aunty Betty and cousin Peter and Kaye were also there as was mum Annie and Gordon. This was our second and final planning trip in our new little caravan as we prepare for our trip around Oz. We had great company and enjoyable food and a little wine and beer, too. Dolphin Point caravan park is the best van park I've ever been to; it's right on the beach of the lake and is just a short walk from the ocean beach. However, not all memories of the beach are worth remembering: my surf board snapped in two in some dumper surf.
Here are some more photos from the weekend.

- The Snell family of Sydney's Northern Beaches is doing a largely unplanned, unscripted road trip around Australia. Towing a caravan, we will be able to stop, start and stay when and where we want as we explore this wonderful country and share a once-in-a-life time experience as a family together (that's if we don't drive each other mad first). We are keeping this blog so that we can share our experiences and stay in touch with family and friends over the months ahead.
Dear Liz, Stu ,Tabatha and Charlie. Great to hear and see you are all going on the adventure of a life-time. Exploring the largest island and one of the biggest countries in the world! Not to mention we were all born here. It too is one of my dreams at a later stage, to explore the parts of Australia I haven't as yet (Hopefully with a loved one or two). Make sure you take plenty of spare batteries and memory cards for cameras, for the times you may be away from power or unable to download pictures onto your computer. I expect a couple of thousand photos a least from a good old (or young still) journo and a beautiful perspective from a wonderful woman and children. We all see the world from different eyes at times. I hope to of course speak to you before you go and hope to keep up with the adventure. If you get a chance in Western Australia to go to the vineyards around the Margaret River region et cetera it's worth it. Take it from someone who once loved a drop or more than enough. The folks and myself went nearly fifteen years ago and they discovered an easier way to choose from the plethora of vineyards. Ken went through a guide to Australia wine book (one you may have or maybe recommended to purchase before going, seeing as you like a tipple) and marked the wineries that were on our travels that had good ratings. That way they selected where they'd like to try the local plonk. Anyway, enough rambling from me. Sounds brilliant, keen to hear more. Lots of love, Timbo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Timbo. How about you come and visit us somewhere? Just pick a destination you want to go to! Stu
